During his time there he was offered an opportunity to move to California and work at the shop full time which he accepted. In 2018 SD Tattoo in San Diego, CA took notice of Mikey and asked if he would be interested in coming to do a guest spot which he said yes too. For the next couple years Mikey started to progress very quickly and completed his apprenticeship.

A couple days after the interview he was contacted and told they would love to have him as an apprentice. He told her to have him come in for an interview. His sister had received a couple tattoos from a local artist and told him about her brother wanting to get into the industry. After receiving the machine and doing a couple little tattoos on family and friends he knew that he found what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

While living there he was encouraged by family and friends to purchase a tattoo machine and give it a try. At 27 Mikey and his family moved to Hampton, VA. Getting that tattoo rekindled the old flame and he started drawing again. In school his favorite class was art, where he really excelled, it was one of the only classes he showed up to faithfully.Īfter high school Mikey kind of drifted away from art for awhile until he received his first tattoo at the age of 21. His family took notice to his drawings and became very supportive and encouraged him to always practice. He would look through comic books and other illustrations and draw them, sometimes tweaking them to make it his own.
